The Attractor Mists collection of images are created by iterating or integrating the mathematical expression defining the system and at the end of a predetermined number of steps illuminating the pixel on the screen corresponding to the result. The color is chosen for each pixel by an imaging algorithm provided by the Fractal Science Kit program published by Ross Hilbert.
We call these images "attractor mists" because the region of state space illuminated will be the attractor of the system and the image emerges one pixel at a time, lending a wispy quality to the image.
