Good day. Billy, Ma and Dad came up in A.M. to spend day. Wallace Small came down to saw wood. Ina Hicks and John Henry Doughty married Sat. night.

Clear, cold and windy. Ben down home in shop.
Tues. Jan. 3rd
Cold. Ma up in P.M. We went over to Delia's. Ben and I went over to Delia’s in eve. Ben worked down home in shop.
Wed. Jan. 4th
Cloudy, warmer. Ed brot Delia over in P.M. to stay while she was sick. Ed and Jim here in eve. Ma up in P.M.
Thurs. Jan. 5th
Rain and sleet part of day. Cleared off warm in P.M. Ed over in P.M. Jim up in eve.
Fri. Jan. 6th
Lovely day. Jim up in eve. Ben and Everett went over to Tripp’s in P.M. to feed up while Ed was in Lewiston. Dad and Ma up in P.M. Everett and I rode down home with them and Dad brot us back.

Lovely day. Ben worked down in shop in A.M. Billy went off with team in P.M. Ed over in A.M. Billy, Everett and I went down to Nellie's in P.M. Ma and Dad spent day here.

Lovely day. Ma and Dad spent day here. Ed over. Billy, Everett and I went down to Trufant’s in P.M.

Good day. Ed over 3 times. Billy worked down home. Came up a little while in eve. Two fish peddlers from Harpswell stayed here over night. Ben down home part of day.

Good day. Ma spent day here. Dad came up after her in late P.M. Ed over twice. Christine and John Wm. down in P.M. Andrew Sheloske here in eve. Ben went down home and P.M.

Blizzard began in A.M. Ed over twice. Ben down home in morn. to shoe one of Sheloske’s horses.

Cleared away. Had to shovel some on roads. I went down home in eve. Ed over in A.M. and P.M.

Lovely day. Billy and Ma up in morn. Billy up in late P.M. to get fiddle to go to Ed Card’s dance. Ed over in P.M. Heard Lizzie Hewey was dead.

Good day. Ben and Everett went down home in P.M. I went down in in eve. Ed in in morn. Ma had bad cold. Heard Dupal was dead.

Good day. Ben and Everett went down home in A.M. Everett and I went down home in P.M. Billy came back with us and stayed all night. Jim up in P.M.

Snowed hard during A.M. Ben went up to mill (McCarthy’s) to work in A.M. and part of P.M. then we went down home in P.M. Ed over in A.M. and in P.M. then we went down home while Ed stayed with Delia. Billy came up home with us and took supper and stayed all night.

Clear, cold, windy. Ben began working at McCarthy’s mill and blacksmith for Sylvester up to Verney’s Cor. Billy went home in morn. to work. Ed over.
Tues. Jan. 24
Clear and cold, 20° below at Bowdoinham. Ben at mill. Jim started for Bath as juryman. Ed over.
Wed. Jan. 25
Cold and clear, 12° below down home. Ben down home in early morn. then went to mill. Ma and Billy up a few minutes in P.M. Frances in in P.M. Ed over.

Warmer. Ed over in A.M. Ben at mill. Fannie Healey died of creeping paralysis.

Good day. Ben worked at mill. Billy up in P.M. Ed over.
Sat. Jan. 28
Good day. Billy up in eve. hunting for Harry horse. Went to box supper at West Bowdoin school house evening before. Horse left him and went to stable at Lisbon Falls. Charlie Allen (taking care of Packard’s sick horse) took care of him. Ben went down home in morn. Everett and I went down home in P.M. Ed over in morn. Jim came home for week-end.

Lovely day. Ben and Everett went up to Mill then Ben went down home. Karl Hatch and Gretchen Hulse married. Ben, E- and I went over to Allen's and Maloon's in P.M. Ed over. Scot fisher took poison and died.

Beautiful day. Ben worked down home. Ed over in A.M. Billy came over in P.M. to stay and help Ben do chores while he was sick. Billy, Everett and I went up to mill and up to Bill Small's in P.M. Billy went away in eve. Eva in in morn.

Warmer. Ben, E- and I went down home in early A.M. Gram spent day here. Ben ploughed in P.M. with Gramp’s team then Ben, E-, Gram and I took it down home. Andrew Sheloske took Delia to Falls to Geo. Barstow’s in P.M.

Real warm, pleasant day. Ben, E- and I went down to Trufant’s in P.M. and Ben went to Booker Douglas’. Nellie home from Rumford for 2 wks. Ed over in morn. Heavy loss from forest fires all over New England.

Rained most of day. Ed over. Ben, E- and I went down home after team. Jim up in P.M. and eve. Ben and I varnished chairs, etc.

Partly cloudy, cool. Ben down home in A.M. Gram up to dinner and spent P.M. then Everett and I went down home with her and Ben came down after us. Billy and I went down to Trufant’s in eve. Nobody home but Bill.

Cool. Ben went to Falls. Ma up in P.M. Ed Tripp here in A.M. I began papering the hall (first time it was ever papered).

Good day – cool, windy. Ma spent day here. I finished papering the hall. Ben had Dad’s team part of day. We all rode down home at night.
Wed. May 10
Good day. Carl Webber came to work for us with Coffin’s team. Ben, E- and I rode up to Geo. Brown’s after supper with “Kimo”.
Thurs. May 11
Cold and partly cloudy. Ben, E- and I went down home in morn. Ma came back with us to spend day. We went up round the old Higgins place in P.M.
Fri. May 12
Cool, partly cloudy. Ben, E- and I went up to Litchfield Cor. in A.M. Ben went down home after team in P.M. then took team down. Done blacksmith work for Guy Card. McCarthy’s mill burned at noon up to Verney’s Corner.
Sat. May. 13
Rainy part of P.M. Ma up to dinner. Ben had to go down home in P.M. and do Guy’s blacksmithing over again. Chester Sabin (one of Herb’s salesmen) brot Billy down in P.M. Jim up in eve.
Sun. May 14
Nice day, warmer. Ben, E-, Billy and I went down home. Ben went down to Jim Goodrich’s on Al Hall’s place in P.M. to try “Kimo”. Uncle Guy, Aunt Fannie, Frieda and Miss Chamberlain came down in P.M. Billy rode back with them. Big crew out fighting fire down on Morgan’s lot by pond.

Nice warm day. Ben gone to Falls all day. E- and I went down home in P.M. Gram came back with us to get whitewash brush. Alfred and Ervin Darling in in eve.
Tues. May 16
Good day, cool. Everett and I were down home all day papering Gram’s bedroom. Ben worked down at the shop most all day for Louis Labbee. Ed Tripp moved last load of goods from Rob Rideout’s place to Fred Youland’s old place. Bill Rideout burned out of the Tarr place.
Wed. May 17
Mostly cloudy, very cool. Everett and I went down home in P.M. to help Gram clean sitting room. Ben came down after us. We rode over to Ed Giguere’s in eve. Ben went down home in morn.

Rained hard most of day. Brot up team and took it back at noon. Jim up in P.M.

Foggy most of day and very little rain. Cleared away in late P.M. Ben worked down home all day. Everett and I went down in P.M.

Nice day. we all spent day down home. Ben took Billy part way to Falls in P.M. Fowler’s folks up in P.M. Jim going to work in New Gloucester at Opportunity Farm. Heard Alton Hall’s boy was dead.

Ella and Roy went down home in morn. Lovely day. Ben took Everett and me down home at noon. Dad took Ma, Ella, E-, Roy and me to Falls in P.M. to 3.15 P.M. car. Harry met us.

Lovely day. Gram, Ella, E- and I went down to Aunt H's in A.M. Gram, E- and I went up to Dry Mills in P.M. Pa Mc- came in P.M.

Lovely day. Ella and Gram went down to Aunt H’s in A.M. I did washing. Aunt H. up in eve.

Slightly showery. Ella in bed all day with bad cold.

Showery in P.M. Gram, E- and I went to Pavilion in P.M. then I went down to Aunt H’s. Joe home all night.

Good day. Billy came about 6 o’clock. Joe came home in P.M. from Portland. All the men but Billy went up to Pavilion in eve.

Lovely day. Billy, E- and I left on 3 P.M. car for Lewiston. Roy took us to station. Ben met E- and me at the Falls.

Lovely day. Ben worked down home. E- and I went down in P.M. Bill Bach’s wife very sick. Brain Fever.

Lovely day. Ben worked down home. Sade in in P.M.

Lovely day. Ben was at the Ctr. all day. Everett and I rode down home in morn. and Ben took us down in eve. then went down to Sheloske’s with Kimo.

Nice day. Ben was gone all day up thru Litchfield selling Pitkin goods and Kimo. E- and I went down home in A.M.

Few sprinkles of rain in P.M. Lovely day, hot. Ben took Billy to West Bowdoin in A.M. to meet Sam Nason. Ben went down home after rack then went down to Karl Hatch’s after load of hay.

Hot day. Frances Buker in in A.M. on way over to see Edna. Ma spent day here and stayed to supper. Ben went down home in A.M. and P.M. Karl stopped going up to Coskery’s with mail on account of bad roads and went by Happy Corner.

Ben worked down home. Very hot. Thunder shower in P.M. Everett and I went down home and stayed to supper. Ben came up to do chores and get Topsy then went down home again while Jim went to Falls to “ride the goat”. (K. of P.) Abbie Jacques called in A.M. Wallace and Harold Small's cows killed by lightning.

Snowed part of A.M. I took Ben to Falls in early morn. to go to Lewiston, from there to Dixfield to work for Sylvester. Ma and Dad over in eve. Clear in eve. Geo. Byras came up in P.M. to take Topsy down to his house.

Good day. Carl Webber came up with Coffin’s team to finish hauling out our wood. Ben came back home about midnight, down for supplies.

Lovely warm day. Ma, Dad and Jim here to dinner. Ben worked all day covering the shed and getting ready for winter.

Warm, very little rain in P.M. Ben went back to Dixfield in early morn. I went down home with him. Sade down in P.M. Aunt Statie Allen very low.

Very windy, colder. Ma, Everett and I gathered hemlock and red berries in P.M.to make Xmas wreaths. Billy, Ma and Dad here in eve. Billy stayed all night. Ben came home about 11.30 P.M. Had been making sleds at Bob Foster’s. Jim and Wallace Fowler bought the Sheffield place and going to cut the wood.

Began snowing in P.M. Billy went away in late P.M. to Falls Ed Buker spent day at Ma’s. Very little snow fell.

Good day. Ma over with Dad in eve. Ben left with heavy team. Got up to Turner. Four young men burned in early morning fire at Colby College.

About 3 inches of snow fell. Clear in eve. Ben drove thru to Dixfield.

Cold and windy day and night. Billy arrived at noon. Stayed here all night. He and Dad went to Ctr. in P.M. and settled our taxes.

Warmer. Very little snow in P.M. Billy cutting wood for Coffin. Over here at night. I went down home to Jim’s in P.M.

24° below at Falls. 10° below at Jim’s. Snowed a few flakes in P.M. Dad and I went to Falls and I went to Lewiston in A.M. Had funeral services at church for Aunt Mandy Smith (95 yrs old) and Mrs. Sargent (88yrs. old) Died at Smith’s house in same room about 5 hrs. apart. Billy stayed over all night.
